I completed my master’s degree in counseling psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California in 2016.

I've gained many experiences over the years, but it all started out as a volunteer for the Friendship Line at the San Francisco Institute on Aging. There, I provided active listening over the phone to adults who were lonely and isolated.

Following my time at the Friendship Line, I worked as a residential counselor and offered milieu support to homeless adults with dual diagnosis who were attempting to regain independent living skills and reacclimate themselves into the community.

My additional experience includes providing school-based counseling for special education students at San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), parent counseling, and consultation. I also counseled detained youth at the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center.

While a lot of my experience came from working with children, adolescents, and parents, my private practice, which I started in April 2019, is exclusively working with adults. It helps provide a nice balance between my day job with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where I link SFUSD special education students to a mental health counselor and provide training and consultations to clinicians.

Working in various settings offered many rich opportunities to connect with people from all walks of life. Different races, educational levels, immigration stories, religions, economic backgrounds, and personalities. I've worked with individuals with divorced parents and parents who are still together. And what I've learned is that we're all just trying to figure out life. That's why I love being a therapist because it's a humbling experience to be of support to others in time of distress. I honestly wouldn't even trade my profession to be a baseball player, and I eat, sleep, and breathe baseball.

A little bit about my personal side. I was born in Manila, Philippines, but raised in San Francisco, California. I have a younger brother, who is equally passionate about baseball as me, and he was the one who converted me from Catholicism to San Francisco Giants baseball. We were raised by our single mother, who showed her love through food and material gifts.

I'm married and my partner and I enjoy doing simple things together like browsing movies at the library, watching tiny homes on YouTube, going to the farmers market, taking long walks, and eating a big bowl of chips.

Finally, my interests include financial independence, retire early (FIRE), San Francisco Giants, fostering bunnies, online privacy and security, and living a simple, minimalist, vegan lifestyle.
